| Join us for our gathering of learning and prayers, exploring the topic: “Peace-Makers Illuminating Human Dignity.” Dr William Vendley will introduce us to the important contribution of Buddhist teacher, Reverend Nichiko Niwano. Dr. William Vendley is the Secretary General Emeritus of Religions for Peace International and a member of its World Council. He assumed leadership of Religions for Peace in 1994, pioneering multi-religious cooperation to address conflicts and promote development worldwide. His initiatives include establishing inter-religious councils in conflict zones such as Bosnia-Herzegovina and Sierra Leone, facilitating peace talks and societal healing. He advocates for multi-religious efforts in conflict prevention, mediation, and post-conflict reconciliation in numerous countries including Ethiopia, Eritrea, Liberia, and Iraq. Beyond peacebuilding, William co-founded the Hope for African Children Initiative. Followed by responses and prayers from Rabbi Richard Marker, Sr Rita Kammermeyer and Sheikh Ghassan Manasra.
