An Interfaith Celebration for Pride
A Faith & Belief Forum webinar for Pride, to celebrate and uplift LGBTQ+ voices from faith communities. Open to all secondary schools free of charge.
About this Event
The F&BF has worked tirelessly for over 20 years to build good relations between people of all faiths and beliefs, and to create a society where difference is celebrated. We are now offering secondary schools across the UK an exciting webinar designed especially for Pride month, using our unique methodology.
The Webinar will allow pupils to hear from a diverse group of speakers from the LGBTQ+ community, who will share their personal stories, reflecting upon their identity and their faith or beliefs. There will also be opportunity to ask questions.
This session will empower young people to:
- Understand the intersectionality of identity through the use of personal stories
- See effective interfaith dialogue modelled
- Reflect on their own experiences in relation to this topic
- Challenge assumptions and stereotypes
- Increase their religious literacy, empathy and skills for dialogue
- Celebrate Pride month
The webinar will take place over Zoom on Wednesday 26th June from 9:15am to 10:30am, with an optional Q&A section from 10:15 to 10:30.
It is open to all secondary schools and completely free of charge.
(please note: we ask you to join the session on Zoom as a full class and not as individual students for safeguarding reasons)
