The 2024 annual report- Attacks on Christians in Israel and East Jerusalem

27/03/2025

Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center

Welcome to the Advocacy and Education Initiative.
The Initiative was created as part of our Jewish-Christian program to address the escalating harassment on Christian communities in Israel and East Jerusalem. We focus on the challenges faced by Christian communities in Jerusalem and throughout the country. Our goal is to provide reliable information about the harassment these communities experience. Through data collection and annually published reports, we make critical knowledge available to local and international stakeholders while advocating for awareness and action. These reports also analyze the broader socio-political context, offering insights into the relationship and tensions between the Christian communities, wider society and the state. The resources we provide are designed to support policy, journalism, advocacy, and education, while also shaping and guiding our own Jewish-Christian programs.
You can find our annual report of 2024 here.

If you have been affected by or have observed acts of harassment, intimidation, or violence against Christian communities, we encourage you to submit a report. Your input is vital in helping us document these occurrences.  We assure you that all information will be treated confidentially and used solely for data collection and providing support. Feel free to report attacks at this link (our monday form: https://rossingcenter.monday.com/boards/7348697312)

Women at the Helm: Reimagining Religious Leadership

In honor of the upcoming International Women’s Day, the latest webinar was dedicated to pioneering women in the field of religion:
Rabbi Naamah Kelman is the first woman ordained as rabbi in Israel.
Rev. Sally Azar is the first woman ordained to the priesthood in the Holy Land.

Led by Dr. Sarah Bernstein, the discussion explored the role of these women in religious society and the resistance they encountered as religious leaders. The conversation led to fascinating insights and connections, both across the different fields and within each community.
