The State of Jewish-Christian Relations Today

Presented by the Manchester (UK) CCJ , with Prof Phil Cunningham

In the decades after the Second World War, Jews and Christians in many nations sought to build enriching new relationships. After centuries of hostility, they had to learn how to speak to one another and to comprehend each other’s self-understandings and cultures of discourse. Great strides have been taken. However, their new relationship is tested today by events in the Middle East and by antisemitic outbursts around the world. This presentation will explore what the current crises reveal about the nature of the Christian and Jewish interrelationship and will suggest ways to deepen it in the future.
